Ruts

The clouds look like furrows in the sky
awaiting someone’s seed so they can cry
perchance a passing spirit will comply

and sow the naked nimbus with a sigh,
the clouds are like furrows in the sky
producing new descendants to deny

a boorish breed whose bruises multiply
the wrinkles of a God that wonders why
the clouds look like furrows in the sky.
