Scrapper

The dawn is like a fading bruise,
an omen that I’ll probably lose
another round, despite a left
I’m not afraid to use.

Determined, I dismiss my doubt
undaunted by the streams that gout
from all my wounds, as I heft
my gloves to brave another bout.

Never let the bastards see you sweat... since I'm waiting for the eleventh round to start, I'm just hoping my cut man can get my fat ass up off the stool! Your timing and rhythm in this one are wonderful and the message shows a unique understanding of the fight game. Anyone who's ever boxed a little will love this one, but the metaphors apply to life as a whole.

"undaunted by the streams that gout from all my wounds" is both unique and superb... great writing!
