Gibbous

It looked at me
so stonily,
a most unnerving glare
as wispy veils
like billowed sails
traversed its solemn stare;
I can’t apprise
why shaded eyes
beheld this lowly one—
perhaps to hail
another pale
reflection of the sun
or circle still undone.
