Forsaken babes of liberty are flung
like paper boats to face a hurricane,
expected to arise because they’re young
and stonily accept the pain in vain,
to sacrifice each tortured droplet wrung
contributing to those unjustly slain.
Back home the ramrod seeks a sign from God
while praying none will see through his facade.
